Retail must be wherever the customer wants it to be, at any time, any place. Bringing memorable experiences into the physical space is paramount to the success of the store.

It has always been about Play

At its core, shopping should be fun.  A physical store, whether it is offering apparel, fitness, or recreation equipment, should aim to “pull” customers in by offering them an experience that they can’t get online, or even on the court or course!  Experience design is a bandied about term that entered the industry several years ago.  Designing for sports, golf, and tennis has always had ‘experience = play’ naturally at its core, so that is an advantage for this industry.

The next step is to design for belonging.  Feeling part of the club, being in the collective audience, and playing in a space is the key to connecting to brands and products.  In this session we will discuss ways to successfully integrate your authentic experiences and promote the sense of belonging into successful retail spaces and places. Let’s bring the fun back into retail. Let’s play!
